Pass Plus is a driving course for those who want to go beyond what’s required to pass the standard UK driving test, helping drivers develop their skills and learn to drive more safely.
Any driver can take the Pass Plus course, but it’s really designed for new drivers within 12 months of getting their first driving licence.
The course consists of 6 hour-long lessons, each covering one of the following:
- Driving in town
- Driving in inclement weather
- Driving in rural areas
- Driving at night
- Driving on dual carriageways
- Driving on motorways
There’s no test at the end of the Pass Plus course, but it can only be given by Pass Plus-approved driving instructor (like Nighean!) who’ll assess you throughout.
At the end of the course you can apply for a Pass Plus certificate which could get you a discount on your car insurance premiums as you’ll be deemed less of an accident risk.
